Apply for a Grant from Community Foundation for Surrey

Welcome to the Community Foundation for Surrey application hub. We support local charities, community and voluntary groups in Surrey whose work benefits our communities. We welcome applications for a variety of funds from new and established groups, in addition to the awarding of grants to individuals.

Send us an Expression of Interest (EOI)
Tell us what you want to do and how much you would like to apply for. Our Grants Team will review your EOI against our Fund’s criteria and will advise you if we can invite you to make an application.

Grants for Groups

Main Grants
Programme

We run regular application rounds throughout the year. Applicants may be considered by one or several of our family of Funds. You don’t need to research all of our Funds or specify which Fund you want to apply to; just send an Expression of Interest (EOI) and we will advise if we can invite a full application.

Stategic Transformation
Programme

The Strategic Transformation Programme focuses on supporting local voluntary and community organisations to become more financially resilient. This is a rolling programme with no deadlines, applications can be made at any time and will be processed where possible within 3 months.

Mental Health
Scale Up Fund

Seeking to produce step change improvement for young people’s mental health. We particularly want to fund projects which demonstrate clear, measurable impact and ability to scale up to reach more beneficiaries, an additional cohort and/or a wider geographic area.

Heritage
for All Fund

Surrey Cultural Partnership and the Community Foundation for Surrey (CFSurrey), with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, have launched a new funding programme. Organisations can apply for grants of up to £10,000 to increase opportunities for diverse communities to engage with Surrey’s rich heritage and natural environment. The fund aims to conserve, share, and celebrate Surrey’s tangible and intangible heritage, enriching lives and strengthening communities.

Area
Funds

Supporting a local fund is a simple way to help people in your community.

We have worked with a number of local communities in Villages, Towns and Boroughs across Surrey to develop a network of ‘Area Funds’. These Funds enable local people to come together to support needs specific to their communities.

Grants for Individuals

Surrey Young
People's Fund

Established in October 2014 to support disadvantaged young people, The Surrey Young People’s Fund provides funding for individuals (aged 16-25 inclusive) who reside in Surrey. The purpose of the funding is to assist young people to move towards an identified goal in education, training, apprenticeship, or employment.

Carers Support
(Guildford) Fund

The Carers Support (Guildford) Fund is a dedicated initiative under Guildford Philanthropy, designed to provide small grants to carers living in the Borough of Guildford. The Fund offers much-needed respite and support to those who provide unpaid care for loved ones, helping improve their wellbeing and quality of life.

David Tyson
Memorial Fund

Established in 2017 to support young people pursuing careers in railway engineering and related engineering disciplines. Grants are typically between £100-£500 to help people aged 16-25. The funding can be used for course fees, study resources (books, software), travel to courses or training, specialist equipment and work-based training costs.

Surrey Supported
Employment Fund

The Fund supports people with disabilities or mental ill health to overcome barriers to work. This Fund works with organisations supporting individuals, rather than the individuals themselves.

Guildford Young
Carers Fund

A dedicated initiative under Guildford Philanthropy, established to provide grants of up to £400 to young carers residing in the Borough of Guildford. Applications must be made through organisations that work directly with young carers, rather than the individual.
